Stepping into something new: Lore’s journey at Codana

Lore Vanderlinden

Hello!

My name is Lore Vanderlinden. I’m 27 years old and I’ve been working as a project manager at Codana since the end of October. Before that, I spent five years working as a frontend developer at a consultancy firm. The pandemic made me realise it was time for a change which is why I took nine months off to travel. It offered me the necessary time to reflect until I was ready for a fresh challenge.

I then wanted to find a company where I could combine my passion for entrepreneurship with a new role in the IT sector – enter Codana! I’ve gotten the opportunity here to step into project management, a role that allows me to leverage my technical background whilst still learning plenty of new things.

A Warm Welcome

I’ve felt right at home here from day one. I got a full tour of the office and was introduced to my new colleagues. Codana is a smaller team than I was used to, but that actually makes working together more enjoyable and more personal. There’s a real sense of teamwork here; everyone is collaborating toward the same goal.

My first few weeks were all about onboarding and getting to know the company. I had several introductory meetings planned in which they guided me through tools, processes, and typically Codana workflows. It helped me quickly gain a clear understanding of how everything works here. I also got an early look at the ongoing projects and the different clients Codana works with.

Hitting the Ground Running

By now, I’m fully immersed in my role as a project manager. I’m actively working on multiple projects, and no two days are the same. That’s exactly what makes it so exciting! I receive plenty of support and guidance when needed, but at the same time, I get the freedom to figure things out on my own and take responsibility. Over the past few months, I’ve already learned so much; I’m looking forward to developing myself even further in the coming period!

In short: joining Codana was the best decision ever and I’m thrilled to discover what else is still in store for me here!
