How we at Codana build trust, quality, and smart assistance

At Codana, everything revolves around quality. Not only in the code we write, but also in the way we collaborate and communicate. Our monthly lightning talks are a great example of this: short, inspiring sessions where colleagues share ideas and challenge each other. This way, we keep growing – as individuals, as a team, and as a partner for our clients.
Last week, two fascinating themes were on the agenda. Jonas showed us how tickets can be more than just tasks on a board. And William took us into the world of AI and demonstrated how ChatGPT can speed up analyses. At first glance, these topics might seem far apart, but they actually share the same common thread: building trust and quality.

Tickets as building blocks of trust
Jonas kicked off the session with a question that made everyone smile:
“What if a ticket never brought frustration again, but instead created trust?”
We all know the feeling: tickets that are vague, go back and forth endlessly, and drain more energy than they generate. Jonas flipped the perspective. A ticket is not just a task; it’s an opportunity to build trust. By writing clear user stories, taking ownership, and communicating transparently, a ticket suddenly becomes a helpful tool instead of a hurdle.
The beauty? Trust works both ways. Internally, we feel that we are building quality together. And externally, the client experiences that they are truly being listened to and that we, as a team, have control of the process. That is exactly where Codana makes the difference.
ChatGPT as a flying start, not the finish line
After that, William took us into another universe: that of AI and analysis. His talk revolved around a question that’s on everyone’s mind today: how can ChatGPT make our work smarter, without us losing control?
He showed how a well-crafted prompt and a clearly defined persona can make ChatGPT a powerful springboard for analyzing problems or exploring ideas. But he also warned us of the pitfalls: AI output should never be blindly copied. It remains crucial to evaluate critically, support conclusions with evidence, and adjust where necessary.
His conclusion was simple yet powerful: ChatGPT is an assistant, not a replacement. It helps us get started faster, but the human perspective remains essential to safeguard quality.
One message, two perspectives
What stuck with us most is that both talks – however different – touched on the same core idea. Whether it’s about writing a ticket or using an AI tool: quality doesn’t happen automatically. It requires deliberate choices, ownership, and a team that keeps each other sharp.
And that’s precisely why we organize these lightning talks. To inspire one another, to raise the bar a little higher each time, and to keep building together on what truly drives us at Codana: web apps of tangible quality.
